Today I watched “The Sorcerer's Apprentice” with Nicolas Cage and Monica Bellucci … http://movies.nytimes.com/2010/07/14/movies/14sorcerer.html
... This is obviously neither the first nor the last Disney movie about sorcery!
When I was a kid, me and my friends used to watch television programs with sorcerers appearing as powerful and admirable people! And I remember we wanted to have “supernatural” powers too, no matter what source it could come from… Like “Presto, the Magician”, a character from a TV show named “Dungeons and Dragons”! - http://bit.ly/1urygWq

Nowadays, I try to protect my kid from this kind of entertainment, but sometimes, It’s not easy to do it!

A couple of months ago, my wife and my kid watched “Shrek Forever After” (DreamWorks) and “The Princess and the Frog” (Disney). These animations have plenty of elements from witchcraft. My kid and my wife had “bad dreams” after watching these films!
But “The Sorcerer's Apprentice” is a little bit different from all these cartoons I just mentioned, cause this movie, with all its details and symbolism, has an enormous potential to attract kids and teenagers to the path of the devil.
This film shows witchcraft as a good gift able to protect mankind from the attacks of evil, but it’s a trick… The only Good font of Power and Protection is Jesus… And everything “besides Him” is satanic. (John1:1-3, Jeremiah 17:5-10, Proverbs 3:5-8, John 14:6 and John 8:32, 36)
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness.” II Corinthians 11:3, 14, 15 ( II Timothy 4:3, 4, I Peter 5:6-11, Matthew 24:11, Acts 8:9-25 and Atcs 16:16-18)
In “The Sorcerer's Apprentice”, witches and wizards imitate God’s Power (Exodus 7 and 8) trying to resurrect the dead and build an army, for example (Ezekiel 37:1-14 and John 11).
And the main character, Balthazar (Nicolas Cage), is a sorcerer responsible for finding a child who was going to “save the world from pain” or something like this…
... This child had almost the same profile as the antichrist described in the Bible.
(* It also reminded me of “The Last Airbender” - http://www.thelastairbendermovie.com/
and this music video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-iepu3EtyE ... System Of A Down - Aerials)
The antichrist will be some kind of “saviour” that will ‘help’ the World with its needs without Jesus… He will try to prove that people don’t need the Biblical Jesus (The Real Jesus) and His principles to have a decent life… He will try to make people find strength in themselves, by themselves… He will deliberately deny Christ in every possible way. (Zechariah 11:15-17, Revelation 13:4-15, I Corinthians 10:14, 15, I Corinthians 6:2, 3, I John 2:18-29, I John 4, 5, II John 1:7 and Proverbs 16:4)
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6 (I Timothy 2:1-6)
"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:20 (Hebrews 11, Hebrews 12:2, John 1, I Corinthians 3 and John 14)

ResponderExcluirThe opening scenes are a little subversive, but this video has got some interesting stuff about Disney - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQdfT3gKrD8 - "Test everything. Hold on to the good." I Thessalonians 5:21 -> This is absolutely necessary!!
ResponderExcluirMay God Bless Us All Always! In the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
ResponderExcluir"Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!" I Corinthians 6:3
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen." I Peter 5:6-11
